Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Wednesday organised a tree plantation campaign across the Mirpur area of the capital to commemorate the martyrs of the July-August anti-fascist movement.
Different species of fruit and forest trees were planted on the roads of Mirpur.
The Earth is suffering from an environmental breakdown, and tree plantation is an essential component to stave off such catastrophe, said members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
“We now have a new country, thanks to the July-August movement,” said the members. They dedicated their tree plantation campaign to those martyred and injured in the student-led movement
Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Mirpur unit conducted the tree plantation campaign. Participants of the campaign were: Mirpur unit members Wali Khan Yusufzai, Sadman Tahsin, Nazmul Hasan Maruf, Rifah Nanjiba Abika, Swapna Akter, Mahima Mahbuba, and more.
