On Tuesday, a new shipment of 231 metric tons of Asterix potatoes was exported to Nepal through the Banglabandha Land Port in Tetulia Upazila, Panchagarh. The shipment, consisting of 11 truckloads, was sent by four exporters: Thinks to Supply, Amin Trardus, Fast Delivery, and Sufla Multi Products Limited. Each truck carried 21 metric tons of potatoes, sourced from various areas of Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, and Nilphamari districts, reports BSS.
Ujjal Hossain, the Quarantine Inspector of the Plant Contamination Center at Banglabandha Land Port, shared that a total of 2,079 metric tons of potatoes have been exported from Bangladesh to Nepal via this port between January and March this year. He highlighted that the port is becoming increasingly significant in the export of potatoes to Nepal. The potatoes for this latest shipment underwent thorough testing and were cleared for export before being sent off.
This continued success in potato exports further strengthens Banglabandha’s role in regional trade.
