A total of Tk 3,38,52,900 was collected as toll from the Jamuna Bridge in the last 24 hours until Friday midnight.
During this period, over 48,000 vehicles crossed the bridge, officials said, reports UNB.
Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer of the Jamuna Bridge site office, stated that 48,335 vehicles of various types passed through the bridge, marking the highest toll collection recorded so far during the Eid-ul-Fitr rush.
To manage the increased traffic, toll collection capacity has been enhanced, with 18 booths now operating at both ends of the bridge, up from the previous six per side.
Pavel also mentioned that security measures have been strengthened at the toll plazas to ensure smooth operations and the safety of travelers during this peak period.
