Cumilla district unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho has conducted an introductory session along with forming an annual work plan for the social volunteer platform.
Local unit President Zahid Patwary presided over the session at the Cumilla Town Hall auditorium on Tuesday.
The organisation has set a target to host various events, including Iftar for orphans at Anjuman Mofidul Islam, distributing Eid materials among the poor, free medical camp, bringing underprivileged students under the ambit of scholarship, arranging book reading, an essay competition, distributing vegetable seedlings among students, and a fruit festival for young students.
“Due to its colourful plans and welfare-oriented humanity, Shuvosangho is enlightening every level of society. We also want to be its proud partner. For that purpose, this is the first meeting of the newly formed committee of the Cumilla district unit,” said Shuvosangho’s Cumilla district unit President Zahid Patwary.
Shuvosangho Cumilla unit Adviser Mobarak Hossain, General Secretary HM Mohiuddin, vice-presidents Zahirul Islam, Abul Bashar Rana, Finance Secretary Shamsul Alam Rajan, Culture Secretary Fahim Muntashim, and senior journalist Mohiuddin Mollah were present on the occasion.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman on 26 February announced the 44-member Cumilla district unit for the next one year.
