Shuvosangho, a social welfare platform of Bashundhara Group, one of the country’s renowned industrial conglomerates, has distributed food materials among flood-affected people in Haluaghat Upazila of Mymensingh.
The Shuvosangho volunteers distributed the relief materials among the flood-hit people of Kutura village under Dhara Union and Guniarikanda village under Koichapur Union of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.
Shuvosangho Upazila Unit Convener Delwar Hossain, Advisor Khurram Khan Jubaraj, and Mazharul Islam Mishu, a representative of the social welfare platform, were among those present at the food distribution event.
Although floodwaters have started receding in Haluaghat, many low-lying areas, including parts of Dhara and Koichapur unions, remain submerged.
The flood-affected residents expressed their relief and happiness upon receiving the food supplies.
It’s noteworthy that heavy rainfall and upstream flooding in recent days submerged large parts of Haluaghat and Dhobaura upazilas, inundating farmland, ponds, fisheries, roads, and houses, leaving thousands of people severely affected.
