The government has withdrawn deputy commissioners from 25 districts across the country and reassigned them to various ministries and departments of the government.
The Ministry of Public Administration said this in separate notifications issued on Tuesday evening, saying that the order will be implemented immediately for the people’s interest.
The districts are - Dhaka, Sylhet, Habiganj, Mymensingh, Magura, Rangpur, Gaibandha, Naogaon, Natore, Cox's Bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Gazipur, Comilla, Moulvibazar, Khulna, Gopalganj, Faridpur, Sherpur, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Pabna, Bogra, Joypurhat, and Chandpur.
As part of its move to reshuffle in the public administration, the government has already promoted 30 Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP) to Superintendent of Police (SP) for bringing dynamism to the force.
