In the wave of changing of power, the Director General of Bangla Academy Professor Dr. Md. Harun-ur-Rashid Askari also resigned, who was appointed just 22 days ago.
He told the media that he submitted his resignation letter on Saturday due to 'emergent circumstances and personal reasons'.
He said, "The resignation letter has been sent to the ministry through proper channels.
On Sunday, the ministry will accept the resignation letter and decide what to do next.
Culture Ministry Secretary Khalil Ahmad told the media, "He (Harun-ur-Rashid Askari) told me on the phone after noon that he would resign. I have to check whether the resignation letter has reached my office or not.”
Md. Harun-ur-Rashid Askari was appointed as the Director General of Bangla Academy on July 18 this year. He succeeded poet Muhammad Nurul Huda in Bangla Academy.
