The BNP has prohibited the inclusion of leaders and activists from any other political party, as well as non-political individuals, within its ranks until further notice.
“No leader or activist from any other political party, or non-political individual, is permitted to join any committee of the BNP or its affiliated bodies, from the ward level to the national level, until further notice,” stated a press release from the BNP on Thursday, reports The Daily Sun.
The press release, signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, instructed all party members to adhere strictly to this directive.
In a related development, the BNP will organise doa mahfils in mosques across the country on Friday after Jum’a prayers to pray for the departed souls of all the students and individuals who were martyred during the anti-discrimination student movement, and for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.
The party has urged leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organisations at all levels, as well as Muslims across the country, to participate in the prayers.
