Sheikh Hasina, who resigned on Monday, is likely on her way to London through India, diplomatic sources said, reports Daily Sun.
Hasina is understood to be travelling on a C130J transport aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force and it is expected to make a stop in India.
It was not immediately clear whether the military transport aircraft will take her beyond India or she will travel to London on a different plane.
The military plane was expected to land in Hindon air base in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh near Delhi at around 6pm, according to flight tracker Flight Radar 24.
At one point, the plane's movement was monitored by 52,000 people, sources at Delhi Air Traffic Control (ATC) said.
India decided to provide a safe passage through the its airspace to Hasina's aircraft following a request from Bangladesh, the sources said.
Indian government sources said New Delhi is closely following the fast-paced developments in Bangladesh.
Earlier, ABP English channel reported quoting unnamed sources that Hasina has been refused asylum in India and she may be heading to Europe.
