Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday said an interim government will be formed in a day or two to govern the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has quit the power, he said.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the nation, stating that an interim government will be formed in a day or two.
He assured that all killings will be investigated and justice will be served. He urged people to trust the army and maintain peace and order.
Pointing to the people, the army chief said, "Maintain peace and order in the country. Trust me, let’s work together. Please help us. Fighting will get us nowhere. Avoid conflict. Together, we will build a beautiful country."
General Waker-Uz-Zaman said they will now go to Bangabhaban for detailed discussions on forming the interim government.
He advised the students to remain calm.
