A group of retired officers of the armed forces on Sunday urged the government to withdraw the armed forces from the streets and send them back to barracks.
They made the call while addressing a press briefing at the RAOWA Club in the capital's Mohakhali DOHS.
Former chief of army staff Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan read out the keynote paper on behalf of the retired armed forces officers.
Terming the government has taken the initiative to turn the political crisis into militarization, they opposed it.
Former Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen M Nuruddin Khan was present there while Brigadier General M Sakhawat Hossain and Brigadier General Shahedul Anam Khan, among other retired officers, spoke at the press conference.
