State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat said the government will face the ongoing crisis politically.
Laws will be imposed to prevent terrorism in the country, he said.
The junior minister made the remarks while briefing journalists at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday afternoon.
Arafat said Awami League wants to deal with the current situation peacefully. If miscreants create anarchy in the country, the government will deal with them with an iron hand.
BNP wants to unstable the country by committing violence and terrorism. Quota-reform protesters have expressed their solidarity with BNP’s old demands, he added.
The state minister also said the government has shut the Facebook for the greater interest of the country, not to suppress or stop anyone. The perpetrators are playing with the emotions of the common people.
In response to a question about the decision of the National Security Committee meeting held at Ganabhaban on Sunday, Afarat said all the participants in the meeting agreed to prevent rumours and save the lives and properties of the people.
