Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that he will resign if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thinks it necessary.
He said this while speaking to journalists at his ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat after a meeting with top officials of the law enforcement agencies on Saturday night, reports UNB.
When asked whether he and other officials would consider resigning to improve the current situation, the Home Minister responded, "If necessary... if such a situation arises, and if the Prime Minister deems it appropriate... We always work for the country. We will do so if the Prime Minister believes it is needed."
The statement came in response to demands from students involved in the anti-discrimination protests, who have called for the resignation of the Home Minister and several other ministers.
