Short-distance train services (Local and commuter) will resume on Thursday on a limited scale under a relaxed curfew.
The decision was made at a meeting on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Railway head office in the capital.
However, no decision was made on the intercity train services across the country.
Railways Minister Md Zillul Hakim presided over the meeting while Secretary of the Ministry of Railways, the Director-General of Bangladesh Railway, and other senior railway officials were present.
Train services were halted on July 18 due to violence during the quota-reform movement.
