The government has relaxed the ongoing curfew from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm for the next four days (Wednesday to Saturday) in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal came up with the announcement on Tuesday, Daily Sun reports.
The process of banning Jamaat-Shibir politics from the country is currently underway, said the home minister after emerging from a meeting held with top brass of the government at his ministry office in Dhaka in the afternoon.
Some ministers, state ministers and heads of the law enforcement agencies held the emergency meeting over contemporary issues.
The meeting also discussed other issues, such as the quota reform movement and its aftermath, the withdrawal of the curfew, and the overall law and order situation.
