A Dhaka court has placed Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) chairman and former Member of Parliament Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho on another three-day remand in a case lodged over vandalizing and setting Setu Bhaban in the capital's Banani area on fire on July 18.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam passed the order on Tuesday as police produced Partho before the court after the end of his five-day remand in the case and pleaded to place him on 10-day fresh remand.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sultan Sohagh Uddin on July 25 placed Partho on a five-day remand in the case.
The detective branch (DB) of the police arrested Partho from the capital's Baridhara area on July 24.
A mob of 250/300 people on July 18 stormed into the premises of Setu Bhaban, vandalized many vehicles, and motorbikes, ransacked different sheds and rooms, and later set those on fire. They attacked and beat many employees black and blue.
