Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has urged journalists to always be with the truth, saying the media industry is facing new challenges every moment.
"Let's portray the truth. No one should resort to falsehood," he said while addressing the founding anniversary programme of the News24 television channel at its head office in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital on Sunday.
News24 stepped into the 9th year of its operation with a vow to project positive stories of people using traditional and digital media platforms.
The Bashundhara Group chairman said he feels proud after hearing that the television channel has made its place among the top five mainstream media outlets in the country within a short time. "I believe News24 television will top the list in the near future," he said.
Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said Bashundhara Group excels in every sector, including media.
"Bangladesh Pratidin hits the stand as the highest circulated newspaper. I hope News24 television will be a unique destination for all groups of audiences. There's no space for falsehood, negative thinking and bad intention in the media," he added.
