BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon the government to step down from power, shouldering the responsibility for killing people during the recent nationwide student movement over the quota issue.
“Visiting a hospital after injuring the students through shooting is nothing but crocodile tears. The assurance of assisting the victims is also another instance of deceiving people. Just shoulder responsibility for all these killings and step down from power immediately,” Fakhrul said, Daily Sun.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the BNP leader said the government is engaged in carrying out repressive and oppressive acts to hang on to power illegally.
