Newly appointed Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr Abdul Maleque on Thursday paid profound homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj, reports BSS.
After laying the wreath, the CIC stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of deep respect to the memory of Bangabandhu.
Later, he offered prayers seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.
The CIC also signed the visitors' book kept on the mausoleum premises.
