Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said the anti-liberation forces are challenging the country's independence in disguise of communalism and militancy, so the evil forces should be defeated, reports BSS.
He made the remarks while talking to journalists after paying tributes to the brave martyrs by paying a wreath at National Memorial in Savar this morning, marking the Independence and National Day.
The AL general secretary said the country is on the way to build Sonar Bangla under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and building Smart Bangladesh is now one of the commitments of the ruling party.
Responding to a statement of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that genocide happened because of the AL's mistake, Quader said BNP does what Pakistan says and the party is inspired by Pakistani ideology.
He said BNP leaders have been holding the Pakistani consciousness in their hearts.
