Bangladesh Railway will start selling advance train tickets on April 7 for the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
This year hundred per cent of eid tickets will be available online.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan revealed the information at a press conference at Rail Bhaban on Wednesday.
He said the situation seen at Kamalapur rail station every year for eid tickets is embarrassing. For this reason, the railway authority has taken initiative to sell hundred per cent eid advance tickets online.
The Railways Minister said advance train tickets for April, 17, and 18,19,20,21 will be available on April 7, 8,9,10, and 11 respectively.
He also said the date of selling tickets of April 22, 23 and 24 will be fixed after the moon sighting of eid.
Nine pairs of special trains will run on different routes to ease the journey of home-bound people during Eid, he added.
