Four people, including an infant were killed in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kunderhat Bus Stand area of Nandigram upazila in Bogura district on Monday morning.
Six others were injured in thre incident.
The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Hefjul Islam, 45, son of late Abu Taleb of Damgara village of Nandigram municipality, Abdul Alim, 3, son of Tansen Ali of Omarpur village, Minhajul Islam, 22, son of Sakhawat Hossain of Namuit village and Shahidul Islam of Hatdhuma village of the upazila.
Quoting locals, Tofajjal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kunderhat Highway Police Station, said the pick-up collided with the Bogura-bound auto-rickshaw carrying the victims coming from opposite direction on Bogura-Natore highway at 8:00am, leaving four people dead on the spot and six others injured.
Later, the injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.
