At least 20 students of Rajshahi University (RU) were injured in a clash with locals in the Binodpur area adjacent to the university campus on Saturday evening.
According to the students, the clash ensued when some students locked into an altercation with a helper over sitting on a bus. Later, locals allegedly attacked the students which later occurred in many phases.
They also alleged that locals fired cocktails and bombs during the clash, leaving at least 20 students wounded.
Some of the injured were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Agitated students set fire to a police box on the campus alleging their negligence.
Motihar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hafizur Rahman said they are trying to bring the situation under control.
