Faridpur auditions for the Quraner Noor, the national Hifzul Quran Competition 2023, powered by the country's largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, started on Saturday.
Junior contestants came from different parts of the Faridpur region to participate in it.
The ceremony of Hifzul Quran competition started with the audition round organised by Padma Department in the hall of Shilpakala Academy of Faridpur at 9:00 am.
Faridpur deputy commissioner Md Kamrul Ahsan Talukder, Bashundhara Group executive director and district Awami League leader Jamal Hossain Mia, daily Kaler Kantho deputy editor Haider Ali, among others, were present, reports Daily Sun.
The first prize winner of the competition will win a prize money of Tk 10 lakh while the Second Prize Money is Tk 7 lakh, third Tk 5 lakh, and the fourth and fifth Tk 2 lakh each.
One of the Judges of the show, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Pesh Imam Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Muhiuddin Kasem said 30 hafezes will be primarily selected for the competition. Of them, 10 will be selected later.
This is the highest prize money declared for the Hafezes till date, he said.
The first prize winner of the show, along with the prize money, will get the chance to perform Umrah with his family and teachers, he informed.
