Twenty underprivileged women in the Birganj upazila of Dinajpur received free sewing machines from Bashundhara Group as part of the industrial conglomerate’s philanthropic efforts.
The event, held on Monday, was attended by several distinguished guests, including Birganj Government College Principal Masudul Haque, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fazle Alahi, and Officer-in-Charge of the local police station Abdul Gafur.
Other notable attendees included BNP Municipality Unit President Amirul Bahar, Upazila Unit General Secretary Zakir Hossain Dhalu, Workers Welfare Federation District Vice President Rashedunnabi Babu, Jamaat’s Upazila Unit Chief Qari Azizur Rahman, and Bashundhara Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman.
“We had no place to call home. After my father passed away, our family was plunged into darkness. Now, I have the strength to do something for myself. Bashundhara Group has been a blessing in my life,” said Sathi Besra, a beneficiary of the programme.
Zakaria Zaman said that this initiative by Bashundhara Group for disadvantaged women is bringing positive changes to society.
“The training and sewing machines not only provide a source of income but also bring a new sense of hope to their lives. Bashundhara Group has always been committed to social responsibility, and we will continue these efforts in the future,” he said.
