BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Dr. Abdul Moin Khan said there can be no autocraqcy in Bangladesh.
He said this at an Iftar and Doa Mahfil at Narsingdi Bazaar on Thursday evening, organized by the Narsingdi Bazaar Merchants' Association.
Moin Khan said that through a long struggle, we forced the tyrannical government to flee. The pro-democracy parties of Bangladesh became united and protested for a long time. At its culmination, the students took to the streets.
He said, “Those who were unjustly detained in Narsingdi Jail were freed by the students who broke the prison on July 19. On that day, they established human rights with their blood and lives. The history that was created by breaking Tehar Jail in 1727 was repeated by breaking Narsingdi Jail on July 19. As you have seen, tyranny was forced to flee within a span of two weeks. There is no greater right in the world than human rights.”
He further said, "Let democracy return to Bangladesh. The new Bangladesh that was created with the sacrifice of the blood of the students has 120 million voters out of the 180 million people of Bangladesh. Arrangements must be made so that they can vote for the candidate of their choice. We will accept those who are in favor of the majority."
