The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of meetings, gatherings, processions, and rallies in the vicinity of the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the chief adviser, Jamuna, and nearby areas.
This information was shared in a public notice signed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Sajjat Ali on Thursday morning.
The public notice stated that, in the interest of maintaining public order, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, under the authority vested in them by Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), has prohibited any meetings, gatherings, processions, rallies, etc., in the areas around the Bangladesh Secretariat, the chief adviser’s residence at Jamuna, and surrounding areas (Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, Mintu Road) from Thursday until further notice.
