Students of polytechnic institutes will enforce rail blockades across the country tomorrow (April 17) to press home their six-point demand, they announced at a rally at Satrasta area in the capital this evening (April 16).
Hours before the announcement they attended a meeting with Directorate of Technical Education Director General Shoaib Ahmad Khan to realise their demands, but claimed the talks were “unsuccessful” as the government authorities did not give “written assurances.”
A protest leader named Jubayer Patwary announced the rail blockade tomorrow.
Earlier, students from government and private polytechnic institutes kept the Satrasta intersection blocked for hours, causing immense sufferings for people on the streets. Similar blockades were enforced in several other districts.
