The Foreign Ministry has termed India's statement on Bangladesh elections as unwarranted.
The ministry's spokesperson Rafiqul Alam said this at a briefing on various contemporary issues at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
Reminding that elections are Bangladesh's internal matter, the spokesperson said, “Elections are Bangladesh's internal matter. India's statement on Bangladesh elections is unwarranted. All kinds of measures are being taken to stop the killings that are going on at the Indian border.”
He said that despite no response from India regarding the return of the fallen dictator Sheikh Hasina, the distribution of Ganga water is going smoothly.
Rafiqul Alam said, “The government is giving the Rohingya issue the utmost importance. Discussions are underway with the United Nations regarding the return of the Rohingya. It is hoped that this problem will be resolved very soon. Bangladesh believes that the visit of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will play a role in resolving the Rohingya crisis.”
