The eight-year-old child, who was a victim of torture in Magura, died while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Thursday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) disclosed the information in a press release on Thursday afternoon.
The child passed away at 1 pm, the release added.
Despite the application of state-of-the-art medical facilities at CMH and the relentless efforts of specialist doctors, it was not possible to save the child's life, the release further added.
The child suffered cardiac arrest three times on Thursday morning. Although the heartbeat was stabilized twice, it could not be revived the third time, the release continued.
It is to be noted that the child was admitted to Dhaka CMH in critical condition on March 8.
The Bangladesh Army has expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pledged to stand by them in their time of need. The Bangladesh Army also prays for the salvation of the departed soul.
