A massive fire that ripped through Balukhali Rohingya camp No-11 in Palongkhali union of Ukhiya upzila on Sunday has been brought under control after it destroyed over 500 houses, reports UNB.
Cox's Bazar Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Md Samsuddoha said the fire originated in a house of the camp around 3 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent houses, burning down over 500 houses.
On information, 10 units of fire services rushed to the spot and bring the blaze under control around 5:15pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters.
No casualties were reported, he added.
