Former Minister of Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor on Saturday urged Imams to be more aware of anti-liberation forces for the sake of protecting the spirit of the Liberation War.
"A good number of model mosques have been constructed across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina which was rare in the world," he said.
The former minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on "Preventing Militancy-Terrorism and Wellbeing of Alem Society" held on the premises of T&T field in the town this morning.
"We have to stand against the evil forces who were intended to draw Sheikh Hasina as anti-Islamic," Noor said.
The popular cultural personality further said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established the Islamic Foundation which has taken the honour of Imam and Muazzins of the country to a new height.
Deputy Director of Nilphamari Islamic Foundation A K M Jakiuzzaman in the chair, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Zila Parishad Chairman Momtazul Haque, Police Super Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahid Mahmud, Assistant Professor Moshiur Rahman and the General Secretary of district Imam Samiti Maulana Khandker Ashraful Haque Nuri.
