Two officers of the MRT police, including a sub-inspector (SI), have been suspended for physically assaulting four employees of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL). Additionally, a three-member investigation committee has been formed to look into the incident.
Faruk Ahmed, managing director of the metro rail, disclosed the information to the media on Monday morning at the Secretariat Station of the metro rail.
He added that, due to swift actions taken by the metro rail authorities, operations are now running smoothly as per regulations.
Earlier on Sunday afternoon, MRT police officers assaulted the employees, after which officials and employees of DMTCL went on strike from Monday morning. However, considering public convenience, metro rail services continued as usual.
