For over two decades, Ityadi, the popular magazine show on BTV, has showcased Bangladeshi culture, history, and traditions by featuring foreign guests on its episodes.
At the beginning of the programme, 10-12 foreigners took part in the episodes. Later, the number crossed 100.
Through these foreigners, our culture is spreading to different parts of the world. Instead of speaking their mother tongue, foreigners are made to act in the role of simple village people in Bengali, and our folk culture, rural superstitions, various anomalies, social problems, rural sports, etc. are presented.
Citizens of different countries including Japan, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, France, China, Sweden, Romania, Denmark, Indonesia, Paraguay, and the United States participated in this Eid special episode. Hanif Sanket has made a wonderful play about rumors for foreigners this Eid.
About the foreign segment of Ityadi, Hanif Sanket said, “They are amateurs, but many professional artistes also have a lot to learn from them. I’m especially impressed by the punctuality, dedication, concentration, tolerance for hardship, and sincerity of foreigners. The soulful bond that is formed with foreigners in just a few days of acquaintance will never be forgotten. Hopefully, like every time, this episode will give the audience a lot of joy.”
Eid special ‘Ityadi’ will be aired on BTV and BTV World after the 08:00pm news a dayafter Eid day.
