Bangladesh received $1.65 billion in remittance in the first 15 days of March, which amounts to Tk 20,370 crore, according to Bangladesh Bank data released on Sunday (March 16).
On average, expatriates sent $110.41 million per day during this period, reports banglanews24.com.
According to the central bank report, the daily average remittance in March last year was $66.57 million, while in February this year, it stood at $90.27 million.
State-owned commercial banks received $371.34 million, while the state-owned Agricultural Bank handled $130.24 million. Private commercial banks facilitated $1.15 billion in remittances, and foreign banks processed $3.1 million.
