A workers' strike is underway following the verbal and physical assault of four employees of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) by MRT police members.
However, the operation of the metro rail continues as usual.
From this morning (March 17), DMTCL employees began their strike, demanding a fair investigation into the assault incident, with workers seen observing the stoppage at various metro stations.
The decision to strike was announced earlier this night through a statement from DMTCL officials and staff.
