Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged people not to create public suffering by blocking roads during the holy month of Ramadan.
Deputy Police commissioner (DC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Muhammad Talebur Rahman said this on Sunday.
The holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, is underway. Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, is approaching. Along with the preparations for this festival, economic activities in the country increase manifold during the month of Ramadan. After completing work during the changed office hours, devout Muslims rush to their homes to break the fast with their families.
Naturally, there are a large number of vehicles on the city's roads during the month of Ramadan. The traffic police also have to face tough challenges in managing a large number of vehicles in a short time. Apart from this, recently, some vested groups have made the lives of city residents difficult by blocking roads and streets in the name of fulfilling various demands. In this situation, for the convenience of the city residents, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has requested all concerned not to create unnecessary public suffering by blocking roads and nearby spaces during the remaining periods of the holy month of Ramadan.
