The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has directed all government and private schools and colleges in the country to celebrate Independence and National Day.
An order issued in this regard on Sunday said that discussion meetings should be organized at convenient times in all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions highlighting the significance of Independence Day. And on the occasion of Genocide Day, all educational institutions, including schools and colleges, should organize remembrance and discussion meetings about the genocide and the great liberation war with the participation of eminent persons or heroic freedom fighters.
Secondary and Higher Education Directorate said that on Independence Day, at 9 am, the national flag will be hoisted in all divisions, districts and upazilas, the national anthem will be played, and a rally and parade of students of educational institutions will be organized.
On the occasion of this day, a national-level essay and recitation competition will be organized between March 20 and 25. And by March 23, football, T-20 cricket and kabaddi or hadudu games will be organized with the participation of students of schools, colleges and other institutions in districts and upazilas.
