Malaysia has expressed its interest in helping the Bangladesh Election Commission facilitate a ‘Voting system for expatriate Bangladeshis’ ahead of the next parliamentary election.
Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mohammad Suhaimi Othman told banglanews24.com following a meeting at the EC building on Monday.
He said that a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates live in Malaysia, and his country supports all electoral reforms under the current government.
The envoy also said Malaysia is interested in sharing its experience to ensure a free, fair, and acceptable election, particularly regarding the voting rights of Bangladeshi migrant workers.
