SpaceX, the parent company of satellite-based internet provider Starlink, has explored the feasibility of introducing its services at Bangladesh’s airports.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Manjur Kabir Bhuiyan met with SpaceX Global Engagement Advisor Richard H. Griffith at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka to discuss the initiative.
According to a CAAB press release, the meeting focused on deploying Starlink at airports and enhancing passenger services through high-speed satellite internet.
The CAAB Chairman expressed appreciation for SpaceX’s interest in Bangladesh and hoped for future collaboration on the project.
Last month, Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus spoke with SpaceX founder Elon Musk over the phone. They discussed the urgent need for Starlink services in Bangladesh and explored ways to implement them at the earliest opportunity.
