NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has promised to take a football to the Moon if the United States wins the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada, reports DPA.
"We're going to get the soccer ball there," Isaacman said during a news conference on Tuesday.
"So a little bit of motivation for the United States here on this one. That's the challenge, okay, so Team USA, get the job done," he added.
The United States advanced to the Round of 32 as Group D winners and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina for a place in the Round of 16.
The US men's team have never won the FIFA World Cup, while the country's women's team are four-time world champions.
