Saudi Arabia has extended the deadline until the end of 2026 for employers and expatriate workers to renew or regularize eligible work permits.
According to Gulf News, the extension applies to expatriate workers whose work permits expired more than 12 months ago, as well as those who have not received a work permit within six months of joining an organization.
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said the move aims to ensure compliance with labor laws, protect the rights of employers and workers, and provide additional time to complete legal and administrative procedures.
The ministry urged employers and workers to renew or obtain work permits before the deadline. It also warned that legal action will be taken against those who fail to correct their status within the extended period.
