Journalist and communication specialist Ashraf Kaiser called Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami a "canker" in Bangladesh politics during a recent private TV talk show.
He said Jamaat works to take Bangladesh backward, create a religion-based state, and promote a misogynistic society.
Kaiser urged people to examine Jamaat's history in Pakistan and review the statements of its top leaders.
He said, "Does Jamaat have any relationship with religion? This can also be questioned."
Kaiser also claimed that Jamaat is lying about the country's history. He added that BNP had the chance to counter the Awami League's claims against it but failed to do so.
