Bangladesh Pratidin has alerted the public about the circulation of fake and misleading photo cards in the newspaper’s name, urging readers to remain cautious. A general diary (GD number 3472) was filed at Bhatara Police Station on Monday to address the issue.
The newspaper’s news department stated that a malicious group is spreading counterfeit photo cards across social media platforms, including Facebook. These fake cards, which are falsely attributed to Bangladesh Pratidin, are baseless and not authorized by the organization.
To always get accurate and objective news, it has been urged to follow Bangladesh Pratidin's verified Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dailybangladeshpratidin) and website (https://www.bdpratidin.com/). The organization's Assistant General Manager (Human Resources and Administration) Nafiz Azim filed a GD with the police station on behalf of Bangladesh Pratidin.
In the GD, he mentioned that it is being observed that some unscrupulous individuals or groups are creating news on various topics using the name of Bangladesh Pratidin and spreading it on various online platforms including social media. Bangladesh Pratidin has no involvement in these fake news.
However, the general readers and public are mistaking them as publications of Bangladesh Pratidin. As a result, the long-standing reputation, credibility and image of the organization are being seriously damaged. Such activities are creating confusion in the public mind. This appears to be an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the organization. In the GD, he requested to prevent such propaganda and fraudulent activities in the future and to take necessary legal action.
