The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) is set to deliver its verdict today in the crimes against humanity case against Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) president Hasanul Haq Inu, who faces eight charges, including the alleged killing of six people in Kushtia during the July mass uprising.
The verdict is scheduled to be announced at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday by a three-member judicial panel of International Crimes Tribunal-2, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.
The two other members of the tribunal are Judge Md Manjurul Bashid and Judge Noor Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.
The verdict will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV). ICT prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim said the live telecast will be conducted with the tribunal's permission.
Earlier, on June 22, International Crimes Tribunal-2 fixed June 30 for delivering the verdict. On May 14, after hearing lengthy arguments from both the prosecution and the defence, the tribunal kept the case under curia advisari vult (CAV), meaning the judgment was reserved.
Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam, along with prosecutors Mizanul Islam and Faruk Ahmad, represented the prosecution during the hearing. The defence was represented by lawyers Mansurul Haque Chowdhury and Sifat Mahmud Shuvo.
