Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Sunday organised a story writing competition for students of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), in a bid to preserve the memories of the violent and yet glorious July-August days.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho PUST unit also honoured the sacrifices of the martyrs and the injured of the anti-fascist movement through Sunday’s contest held at the university’s Press Club office.
In the contest, students from different departments and batches were asked to write short stories on their experiences of the student-people uprising that ousted the autocratic Awami League leaders from power on August 5.
Three students were adjudged best story writers and all of them belonged to the 2020-21 batch of the university.
The three winners were: architecture department’s Nusrat Jahan Mim, geography and environment department’s BM Mikail Hossain and statistics department’s Fijjul Mahin.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s PUST unit President Abdullah Al Mamun and General Secretary Tanmoy Kumar handed over the prizes among the winners.
On behalf of the welfare organisation, PUST unit Office Secretary Ahsan Ullah Asif, Education and Study Circle Secretary Shobhon Raihan, among others, were present in the event.
