Bashundhara Shuvosangho, one of the largest social welfare organisations in the country, has organised a short story writing competition at Dinajpur Government College, commemorating the memories of the martyrs of the July Revolution.
Shuvosangho volunteers of the college unit hosted the event titled ‘My Experience in the July Revolution’ on the college campus on Friday where students from various departments toop part enthusiastically.
Md. Yassir Arafat, joint secretary of the Shuvosangho Central Committee; Md. Swapan, president of the college unit; Md. Abdullah Al Murad; Joy Sheikh; Arup Roy; and Apon Debnath, vice presidents; Maisha Humaira Itu, general secretary; Md. Rakib Islam; Md. Arif; and Prodipa Rani Roy, joint secretaries; along with Sanoawar Hossain Shanto, publicity affairs secretary; Jotirmoy Roy, sports secretary; and Qaiyum Hasan, executive member of the platform, among others, attended the programme.
Commenting on the event, Arafat said, “The fearless people of the country introduced a new journey of Bangladesh ignoring the risk of their deaths through the July revolution. Now it’s our duty to protect the achievement, in honor of the martyrs like Abu Saeed and Mir Mughda.”
The stories collected in this competition will be shared with the people through different channels, showcasing untold experiences of the July Revolution, he said.
