Tarin Sumaiya of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department (Batch 2020-21) and Farhad Kawsar from the same department (Batch 2021-22) have been made the new president and general secretary respectively of Bashundhara Shuvosangho's unit at Cumilla University for the next one year.
Other office bearers include Vice-Presidents Maruf Sheikh, Shamim Ahmed, and Sajib Ahmed while the joint general secretaries are NH Roni, Joy Roy, Antara Saha, and Shakil Ahmed.
Imran Mia has been appointed organising secretary, while Tasmima Tahreen Oishi and Zahirul Islam Joy will serve as assistant organising secretaries.
Md Rakibul Hasan has been named finance secretary and Md Tahsinuzzaman will assume the role of office secretary. Maria Mursalin has been appointed as the women affairs and social welfare secretary, and Saimul Islam Shuvo will serve as publicity secretary. Saima Haque is the literature and cultural secretary, Noor Akher Maula the sports secretary, Bayezid Hossain the legal affairs secretary, and Abu Hanif the education and study circle secretary.
Executive members of the committee include Ayesha Siddika, Abu Zayed, and Niloy Sarkar.
Professor Kazi M Anisul Islam, head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, has been appointed chief adviser of the committee. Other members of the advisory board include Amit Dutta, lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, and Md Golam Mahmud Pavel, lecturer in the Department of Bangla.
This newly formed 23-member committee will steer the organisation for one year, focusing on social welfare initiatives and student engagement.
