Veteran actress Gulshan Ara Ahmed, renowned for her roles in numerous television dramas, passed away today at 6:40 a.m.
She had been on life support in the ICU following a heart attack.
The news of her passing was confirmed by director Kajal Arefin Ome in a social media post.
Omi wrote in his status, "Our beloved Gulshan Ara Ahmed Apa left us this morning at 6:40."
"In 'Bachelor Point', she portrayed Kabila's mother and the Chairman of Noakhali.
Gulshan Ara began her journey in television dramas in 2002 as a registered artiste with Bangladesh Television (BTV). Yet, her true aspiration was to make a mark in the film industry.
She made her silver screen debut in "Kodom Ali Mastan", directed by the late Enayet Karim.
