Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Narayanganj, Madaripur, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Khulna, Bagerhat and Patuakhali and the Chattogram Division's Sandwip and Sitakunda regions.
"This heat wave might abate from some places across the country," The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) stated on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.
Meanwhile, rain and thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at few places over the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions, the Met office predicted.
A trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas while seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Today's sunset will be at 06:20 pm while tomorrow's sunrise will be at 05:36 am in the capital.
The Met office recorded today's maximum temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda in Chattogram district while minimum temperature at 20.7 degrees Celsius at Tangail district in Dhaka division, said a BMD release, and signed by the meteorologist Md Shaheenul Islam.
